The Speedy Sponge is designed to be kept on your dining table where it is ready to quickly absorb spills without having to look for paper towels and make several trips to squeeze them out in the sink.
When a spill occurs just tip the Speedy Sponge upside down, press the sponge on the spill, soak up the liquid, flip the Speedy Sponge right side up and the liquid from the sponge drains down the specially designed funnel inside, filling its reservoir until you are ready to empty its liquid contents in a sink once, rather then having to go back and forth several times to the sink if you used a paper towel or rag. The sponge can be boiled to keep sanitary unlike the costly use of paper towels!
